“Riccardo Sirotti, nato a Bogliasco nel 1967, studia architettura a Genova dove si laurea con Giuliano Forno e con il quale inizia un periodo di collaborazione su temi urbanistici ed edilizia pubblica e privata.
Nel 1998 entra a far parte dello studio BBPR a Milano dove, tra i vari progetti, segue principalmente la ristrutturazione degli spazi espositivi di Palazzo Reale. Quasi contemporaneamente, si ritrova però a dover fare il “pendolare” per poter seguire i primi lavori che nel frattempo iniziano a commissionargli a Genova.
Decide così di tornare nella sua città e, nel 1999 fonda lo Studio Sirotti .
Studio che da sin da subito basa la propria filosofia sulla intima fortuna di Riccardo Sirotti di aver vissuto in una “casa” dove quando si “parlava di lavoro” – il padre è il pittore Raimondo Sirotti – era sempre un “parlare d’arte e di sensazioni ad essa legate”.
Filosofia che, nel corso degli anni, delinea la passione per lo studio dei materiali, “attori” principali delle realizzazioni dello Studio, come elemento di congiunzione fra il disegno e la realtà.
Il tutto tradotto nella ricerca costante della fisicità come emozione per vivere l’architettura
Architettura generata dal lavoro delle tante sapienti mani di capaci collaboratori.
Nel 2005, sua moglie Claudia, inizia la fortunata collaborazione con lo Studio occupandosi principalmente di arredo di interni.
Contemporaneamente si decide di dedicare una parte dell’attività dello Studio Sirotti esclusivamente al design, prendendo il nome di Studio Sirotti architettura & design, con la volontà di generare spazi architettonici dove anche il più “semplice” oggetto disegnato all’interno della scatola, sia conseguenza logica di una dimensione interamente ideata.
Ad oggi, l’ attività dello Studio Sirotti, si divide tra Milano, Genova e il territorio ligure occupandosi principalmente di residenze private, spazi espositivi, locali pubblici e spazi operativi.
Dal 2015 al 2018, lo Studio è presente alla Design Week di Milano, dove viene invitato a presentare il proprio lavoro, con delle esposizioni organizzate all’interno del percorso delle “5Vie”.
Nel 2019 lo Studio Sirotti partecipa alla design week di Genova con l’intervento dell’architetto Riccardo Sirotti “Arte e Design, incroci”.
Nel 2020 lo studio cura l’allestimento dell’esposizione “ Sirotti e i Maestri” ospitata a Villa Croce e , l’anno successivo , segue la mostra “ Raimondo Sirotti 1934-2017, La retrospettiva “ a Palazzo Ducale.
Riccardo Sirotti was born in Bogliasco in 1967 and studied architecture in Genova. He graduated with Giuliano Forno with whom he started a period of collaboration on public/private urban and building themes.
In 1988 he became part of the BBPR firm in Milan where, among various projects, he mainly followed the renovation of the exhibition area of Palazzo Reale. Around the same time, however, he found himself having to commute in order to follow work that had been assigned to him in Genova.
So, he decided to return to his city and in 1999 he founded the firm Sirotti. Right from the beginning, its philosophy was based on his personal fortune having been born into a “home” where when “they spoke about work” – his father was the painter Raimondo Sirotti – “it was always about art and the sensations related to it”. A philosophy that, over the years, has outlined his passion for the study of materials, the main “actors” in the formation of the firm, as a means of uniting design and reality. Everything translated in the constant research of physicality as an emotion associated with architecture. Architecture generated from the work of the many knowledgeable hands of able collaborators.
In 2005, his wife Claudia started a lucky collaboration with the firm dealing mainly with internal design.
At the same time, she decided to dedicate part of her activity to the Sirotti firm, exclusively to design, using the name Studio Sirotti architecture & design with the desire to generate architectonic areas where even the most “simple”object designated to the inside of the box, is the logical consequence of a very well thought out idea.
Up until now, the activity of the Sirotti Studio is divided between Milan, Genoa and the Ligurian territory dealing mainly with private homes, exhibition areas, public places and operational areas.
From 2015 to 2018, the firm was present at Design Week in Milan, where it was invited to present its work, with organised displays within the “5Vie” route. In 2019, Studio Sirotti took part in Genoa Design Week with “Arte e deisgn incroci, a talk with Riccardo Sirotti”.
In 2020 the firm curated the setting up of the exhibition “Sirotti e i Maestri” hosted in Villa Croce and, an year later, design the set of the exhibition “Raimondo Sirotti 1934-2017, La retrospettiva” at Palazzo Ducale.
